Halloween Fun

We don't have trick or treaters at our house so Zoe didn't dress up this year.  But, I've already decided that next year she's going to be a princess, since she has already taken on the persona.
On Hallows Eve we went to visit the kids where they transformed themselves into scary trolls.

On Halloween there was a costume pet parade at our local park.  I was surprised at all the Bullies that were there.  Here are my two favorite costume's in the parade:

First Day at Work

Zoe decided it was time she came to work with me.  Everyone just loves her and she's accepting all the ear rubs and belly scratching she can.  She's still not completely housebroken, but did pretty good today.  If Zoe could only figure out which door she should stand by and look out that would solve the potty problem.  She slept through lunch in her crate, wandered around the office and stuck her paw in a sticky trap (sometimes we get little critters here).  But, her favorite place was in the cube under my desk where she could hang out undetected.  All in a full days work.

Learning the Routine

Zoe is quickly learning our routine each day.  We get up at 6:15AM, then it's out the back door for a quick walk to take care of business and running back to the house as fast as she can.  It's getting cold now as it was only 45 degrees this morning.  Zoe sits and waits at my feet while I prepare to make my breakfast and hers.  She is developing some good doggie manners.  Oops don't forget to give her the vitamin; she gobbles it down like it's a savory meatball.  She's off and running around the house playing with all her toys and nylabones and then plop.  Doing the normal bullie thing taking a little rest.

Road Trip

We took a trip to Louisville this past weekend and Zoe went along with us.  Her first long drive in the car and she did just great.  We went to the U.S. Cyclocross Derby Cup race and Zoe loved all the people and the attention, but had to get used to all the bicycles whizzing by.  After a long day at the race she zonked out on the bed with my husband.  We stayed at the Ramada Inn which is a pet friendly hotel.  They gave us a first floor room near the lighted courtyard.  It was so convenient to be able to exercise your dog early in the morning and late at night.  I would highly recommend the Ramada when travelling with your pet.

And then there was breakfast at this hip little restaurant in downtown Louisville named "Toast On Market".  Check out the Bread Pudding Pancakes with run raisin syrup and Irish Creme sauce.

Let's eat

Zoe loves to eat; no problems there.  Right now I'm feeding her Iams Smart Puppy, 2-3 times per day.  I always fed my other bullie Wellness, so once she gets acclimated to her new home I'll be switching her over.

Zoe's Coming to Her New Home

After several months I contacted the breeder to let her know that I would be ready to take Elmo’s replacement.  On October 10th I went to see the litter of pups and picked out a sweet little female bullie and named her “Zoe”.  The name comes from the Sesame Street character of the same name; Zoe was Elmo’s best friend.
Zoe settled right into her new home, asleep in the family room.

Elmo

Elmo my English Bulldog died unexpectedly on Friday August 13, 2010 at the age of 26 months old.  I contacted the breeder and she informed me that she had a litter ready to go home in a couple of weeks.  I was grieving over Elmo’s death and I wasn't ready for a replacement puppy; it was way too soon.  Elmo was a wonderful dog and I will always miss his wiggly butt.
